Attic Mold Remediation

Our IAQM Team
IAQM has been remediating mold in attics for over 10 years. With the abundance of rain we have experienced in 2009/2010, attic mold has quickly become an area of concern. If mold is located in the real estate inspection process it can stop a sale in its tracks. According to a study performed by the University of Arizona, "Mold is present in every home, in every climate, in every part of the U.S." Just in the past several months attic mold has become very problematic. We are receiving many calls from customers and/or real estate agents requesting help due to attic mold. IAQM offers the greatest end product available in the mold remediation industry. Conventional methods of attic remediation have left customers wanting in the area of aesthetics. Some of these methods include applying a white paint that is less pleasing to the eye. When IAQM remediates your attic, upon competition of remedial activities we will apply a transparent protective coating that will prevent an future mold growth.

Attic Inspection and Remediation

Attic contamination can degrade the indoor air quality within a home. In addition to the
continuous air exchange from openings in ceilings and walls for electrical, plumbing and
HVAC system access increases a family's exposure to any attic contamination.

IAQM adheres to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations to isolate the
contamination and to keep the occupants and the home safe.

The majority of the sources of mold growth within attics is:

1. Improper Ventilation
2. The overhang soffits vents are not ventilating
3. A bathroom's exhaust venting into the attic. Moisture escaping the bathroom creates condensation inside, creating optimal growth conditions.
4. Leaks in the roof
5. Chimneys with improper flashing (material used to prevent leakage).
6. Lack of gable vents (at the inverted "v" of the roof).
7. Lack of ridge vent (going the length of the roof at the top).

IAQM can Provide:

1. Free estimates
